NAB extends remand of accused in Karkay power plant corruption reference

ISLAMABAD, May 10 (WNP):An Accountability Court Friday extended the physical remand of an alleged accused of Karkay Power Plant corruption reference connected with the fake accounts scam and handed his custody to NAB till May 13.
The officials of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) produced the accused Muhammad Sher before the Accountability Court Judge Muhammad Bashir after completion of his physical remand period.
During outset of the hearing, NAB prosecutor requested the court to grant further 14-days physical remand of the accused for recovery of the relevant record and money.
The Defense Counsel objected and argued there was no need of further remand of his client as the NAB had no solid evidence against him.
The accused disclosed before the court that he has no business connection with the Raja Zulqarnain added that he was his cousin and that’s it nothing more than that.
He said any amount he received from Raja Zulqarnain was his personal matter and not related to any other matter.
The Judge asked the NAB to submit all record related to the reference in the court.
The court handed the custody of suspect Muhammad Sher to NAB till May 13.
