NA body expresses concern over PHF’s poor performance

ISLAMABAD, May 17 (WNP):The Standing Committee of the National Assembly on Inter Provincial Coordination, (IPC) Friday expressed concern over the poor performance of Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF)
A meeting of the Committee was held here in the Committee Room of Pakistan Sports Board, Islamabad with Member National Assembly (MNA), Agha Hassan Baloch in the chair.
The panel noted that the performance of Pakistan hockey had declined with the passage of time due to lack of commitment and mismanagement of the PHF. It directed the PHF to provide complete detail of decline of Pakistan Hockey along with audit reports of last five years.
The Committee recommended that the whole PHF management might be held accountable for poor performance of Pakistan hockey as it failed to even qualify for upcoming Olympics and World Cup.
The Committee also questioned the appointment of Asif Bajwa as PHF secretary and directed that PHF president to provide complete detail of his appointment along with a copy of the PHF constitution and report to the Committee in its next meeting.
The Committee also discussed the performance of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and expressed concern over the unnecessary litigation between PCB and members of the governing board.
The Committee directed that the PCB should settle the issue amicably by removing the genuine reservations of the members for smooth functioning of the board.
The Committee also directed the PCB management to provide complete detail of the performance of cricket board along with its audit reports and Pakistan Super League of the last five years and deferred the issue till its next meeting.
The meeting was attended by MNAs Gul Dad Khan, Rasheed Ahmad Khan, Chaudhry Zulfiqar Ali Bhinder, Gul Zafar Khan, Iqbal Muhammad Ali Khan, Rubina Jamil, Munawara Bibi, Muhammad Hashim, Ali Zahid, Rana Mubashar Iqbal, Muhammad Afzaal Khokhar, Zulfiqar Ali Behan, Shahida Rehmani, Nasiba Chana and Federal Minister, Secretary of Ministry of Inter Provincial Coordination and representative of PCB and PHF.
