CBA slams Khawaja Asif over his USC shutdown proposal

ISLAMABAD, Sept 14 (WNP): Khawaja Muhammad Asif – Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz)’s legislature – was slammed by collective bargaining agreement (CBA) here on Saturday for proposing to shut down the Utility Stores Corporation (USC) during a sub-body meeting of Public Accounts Committee.

Talking to media, USC CBA Chairman Syed Arif Hussain Shah held responsible PML-N government for bringing this people relief-oriented corporation at the brink of destruction as it stopped its funds in order to pave the way for its blue-eyed to become the ‘Don’ of retail market.

He said the PML-N agents in the Parliament House are still making conspiracy against this pro-poor department to lock-down but their nefarious design will be melt into dust.

He also criticized the USC management’s policy for closing down utility stores at various areas of the country.

The CBA chairman said this policy is not only against the interests of the USC but also the down-trodden segment of the society that has lost purchasing power of daily use commodities due to burgeoning prices.

He proposed the USC management that instead of shutting the utility stores down, it has to ensure timely supply of goods to the USC outlets so that it could generate revenue and provide relief to the people in letter and spirit.

On this occasion, he appealed the incumbent government to release a bailout package for the survival of USC on immediate basis.

Highlighting the financial worth of the corporation, he informed that the USC used to deposits Rs6 billion in the national kitty annually in the shape of tax.
