Shut-up call to Mravi imperative for cultural legacy preservation: Survey

By Rehan Khan

ISLAMABAD, Thursday, March 5, 2020 (WNP): There are three types of people in our society – one who is supporting Marvi Sirmed and defending the hidden agenda behind the immoral slogan “mera jism, meri merzi” through illogical reasoning.

The second is appreciating the bold step of Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar for giving a shut-up call to a foreign-funded woman who is trying to distort our cultural legacy through introducing nonsense attitudes towards man.

The third is a bit confused. It is favoring Khalil-ur-Rehman but disagreeing on cursing Marvi on-air.

These three types of people are discovered by World News Pakistan (WNP) through a countrywide survey in a bid to reach out the true public opinions about the ongoing controversy between a man of letters, Khalil-ur-Rehman Qamar whose recently screened master piece “mere paas tum ho” has broken all the previous records on the silver screen and the so called socialist Marvi Sirmed.

The WNP has categorized the responses into three categories – mature, under mature and pre-mature. For the convenience of understanding, the people falling in mature category are in between 40 years and above; they are married and parents of adult children.

In second category, people are in between 20 to 40 years and parents of babies and above all; in third category, people are under 20 years and unmarried.

The first category of response is of the view that Mr. Qamar has done nothing to be ashamed of……his reaction against Marvi was natural and genuine one because a sane, civilized and man of character reacts like Mr. Qamar against any intruder who will try to disintegrate our national resolve through injecting negative aspects of life among our innocent cultured women whether they are from Sindh, Balochistan, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Balistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

The immoral attitudes being projected by Marvi are not even in practice anywhere in the advanced countries. She is exercising a useless attempt in the wake of “Aurat Azadi March” like “Students Azadi March” by Progressive Students Collective in a bid to create anarchy in the country.

Both are the two sides of the same coin and their nefarious designs are to unite dejected segments of the society against the state’s apparatus and to hold them responsible for all ongoing wrongdoings in the society.

There some political parties like Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) are openly providing logistic support to such anti-state elements to deprive the incumbent Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government from their democratic and constitutional mandate and to weaken the role of establishment in the present-day politics by hook and by crook.

In fact, PPP and PML-N’s leaderships are facing mega corruption cases in the courts of law. To halt the ongoing accountability process, they are playing filthy politics putting the integrity and sovereignty of the country at stake.

There are many a decent way to highlight the issues being faced by the women – the weaker sex in the male-dominated society – but the way Marvi Sirmed is doing, it is totally against the social, cultural and religious norms.

The second category of response is somehow in favour of Mr. Qamar but it is not agreeing on cursing Marvi on-air. It gave balanced remarks for both of the controversial figures.

The third category of response favors Marvi Sirmed and said the slogan “mera jism, meri merzi” is being manipulated by conservative and moderate segments of the society.

It is purely combating for the women rights being usurped by male-dominated society for years and years.
