Another petition filed against Saba Qamar, Bilal Saeed

LAHORE, Saturday, August 15, 2020 (WNP/DL): A lawyer in Karachi, Liaqat Ali Khan Gabol, has also filed a petition against actress Saba Qamar and singer Bilal Saeed regarding their dance video shoot in Masjid Wazir Khan on Saturday.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Karachi South sought reply from SHO City Court and others on August 22.

The next hearing will seek arguments on the admissibility of the petition while the court has also sought names of the management of Masjid Wazir Khan who gave permission for the video shooting.

The petitioner pleaded that film actress Saba Qamar and Bilal Saeed violated the sanctity of the mosque by dancing inside it.

Similar applications have been filed earlier in Lahore against the dance video shoot in Masjid Wazir Khan.

It is pertinent to note that Punjab Auqaf Department has suspended Masjid Wazir Khan Manager Ishtiaq Ahmed for allowing an illegal video shoot of a song by Saba Qamar and Bilal Saeed.

The accused is directed to appear before the director (inquiry) to respond to the allegations levelled against him.

Earlier, Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) leaders Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi flayed inaction against people who showed disrespect to a mosque.

They said those responsible for this dancing in the mosque should be immediately arrested and prosecuted. Chaudhry brothers termed the dancing video of Saba Qamar and Bilawal Saeed inside Lahore’s Masjid Wazir Khan a “tragedy”.

“The dancing taking place in mosques is a blatant violation of Shariah and the persons involved in it should be given real and ideal punishment so that no one would dare to commit such an ugly act in future,” Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi said.

“Sadly, those who violated the sanctity of Wazir Khan Mosque are still free,” Chaudhry brethren said in a statement in Lahore.
